Brutus will host a screening of A Thousand Fires (2021), the latest film by acclaimed director Saeed Taji Farouky, recipient of the Critics Week Award at the Locarno Film Festival.
This powerful documentary of resilience and courage, follows the daily struggles of Htwe Tin and Thein Shwe, a married couple who operate a hand-drilled oilfield in Myanmar. Their hard work is driven by their hope to provide a better future for their son and escape the cycle of poverty.
